Adaptation
This tiger swallowtail butterfly will likely spend its entire adult life inside SideStreet Gallery. It is thought the lepidoptera arrived in a cocoon attached to a plant in the fall. But when it emerged, rather than a garden or porch, the butterfly found itself in the Wellington shop. Even with the care and attention offered by shopkeeper Paulette Greer, the butterfly isn’t expected to survive until spring.
