About us

our story

The Wellington Times was founded in 1992. In 2004 Kathleen Sabyan and Rick Conroy acquired the newspaper. In 2017, Corey Engelsdorfer took over as Publisher. The Times remains one of Ontario’s last independently owned community newspapers.

We are unashamedly local in our perspective, content and editorial. We believe the purpose of a community newspaper is to reflect the people, the stories, the concerns and the triumphs that occur on the beautiful island community of Prince Edward County.

The Wellington Times is available through 30 distinctively blue newsboxes and available at more than 50 retail locations in every nook and cranny across the County.
We distribute 5,000 copies weekly on Wednesday–the first paper each week.

If you are looking at a cost-effective way to reach a demographic that has both discretionary wealth and the time to spend it–
the Wellington Times should be your first advertising vehicle of choice.

The County reads the Wellington Times.
