Armed robbery in Picton

The Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is currently investigating a robbery that took place at a convenience store on Paul Street in the Town of Picton.

On November 27, 2015, at 2:11 a.m. officers responded to the store after receiving a report of an armed suspect entering the store and demanding cash from the cashier. The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The OPP Canine Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) were called to assist with the investigation.

The suspect is described as 5′ 7″, slender build, dark coloured hair, face partially covered with a dark coloured scarf, wearing a dark coloured toque, dark coloured canvas type jacket, black pants and beige work boots.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Investigators have confirmed the suspect was male.
