Maple in the County 2015

It seemed fitting that the County’s maple syrup producers announced the 14th annual Maple in the County festival in the midst of a blizzard. Consecon’s Strictly Maple hosted the launch of the festival last week. It is a sure sign that spring is on its way and that this harsh winter will soon loosen its icy grip and allow the sap to flow.

Maple in the County celebrates the first harvest of the year with a family-friendly festival, welcoming another tourism season.

This year, Maple in the County takes place on March 28-29 with 10 sugar bushes participating and 13 additional events and activities spanning the County from Ameliasburgh to Waupoos. Traditional activities will be plentiful, including pancake breakfasts, maple taffy, farm animals, lumberjacks, hiking and lots of that sweet nectar of the woods—maple syrup.
