Suddenly entered into rest at his home, on Sunday, March 17, 2024, John Clarke of Picton, died at the age of 83. Son of the late Andrew Clarke and Charity (née Primrose). Loved father of Paula (Rideau) of Kanata, Hope (Fancy and Handsome) of Canal Flats, B.C., and Pamela (Roxy) of Picton and grandfather of Grace, Daniel and Iris. Truly missed by his former wife Doreen and was loved and admired by his step-children: Rob, Jacqui, John and Jane. Survived by his sister Anne Jeckel of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and twin sister Peg Johnson of Bailey Island, Maine. John is predeceased by his sister Mary Robertson of Fanny Bay, B.C., and will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by his beloved American Bulldog, Bella; “Never trust a man who won’t take a drink or pat a dog.”
Mr. Clarke rested at
Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel,
33 Main Street, (613-476-2450).
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, Picton on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 1 p.m. with visitation for 1 hour prior to the Service in the Church.
Interment in the family plot at Glenwood Cemetery, Picton.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church or the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation “Back the Build” would be appreciated by the family.
