Preserving the County’s nighttime sky

The moon shines in front of Pleiades star cluster last Thursday night. The County’s south shore is the last remaining area on Lake Ontario that is classed as a rural dark sky location. Local groups, including the South Shore Joint Initiative and the Belleville Astronomy Club, are working to have the area designated as a Dark Sky Preserve.
