(ROSE) GRACE CLEMENTS (NÉE RIDOUT)
died peacefully at home in her 101st year with her daughters Louise and Jeannie by her side.
She is pre-deceased by her husband of 74 years, Bill, with whom she lived for over 40 years in the house he designed and built in Hillier, Ontario.
Active in the Prince Edward County community, Grace had been past president and treasurer of the Hillier Women’s Institute, and a member of the Wellington walking group.
Grace was an enthusiastic euchre and Scrabble player, an accomplished seamstress and knitter, donating many items to hospitalized newborns. An avid reader, she enjoyed regular deliveries from the local library and was never far from a stack of books. She also learned bookbinding and repaired books for family and friends.
Grace was devoted to her husband Bill, managing his career as a sculptor and caring for him in his later years.
She leaves her five children, their five spouses, fourteen grandchildren and almost twenty great-grandchildren.
