Migration monitoring underway at PEPtBO

A white-throated sparrow makes its displeasure felt at the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory after being captured in the nets last Friday. Bird-banding operations began on April 10, and after a slow start due to cool, wet weather, the spring migration is picking up and expected to peak near the time of the Spring Birding Festival on Mother’s Day weekend.
