Wellington welcomes the Drake Hotel

Are you curious about what is happening on the site of the former Devonshire Inn? Do you want to know what the Drake Hotel has in store for Wellington? Get your questions ready.

Although they are still several months away from completing their extensive reconstruction of the facility, the folks from the Drake Hotel want to come to Wellington to introduce themselves.

Next Thursday all are invited to attend a town hall meeting with the folks from the the Drake Hotel.

“We want to have a conversation with our new neighbours in our new community,” explained Zoe Shapiro, marketing manager for the Drake. “We want to provide information and to answer questions anyone might have about our plans.”

On hand will be the architects, designers and project managers guiding the reconstruction along with director of development Bill Simpson. The operating side of the business will also be there. Chris Loane is set to manage the Drake Devonshire once it is built. Ana Yuristy, director of hotel operations will be on hand—as will Shapiro.

“It will be an opportunity to go over our plans and do it in a personal direct way with our new neighbours,” said Shapiro.

The meeting begins at 5 p.m. next Thursday, January 31 at the Town Hall in Wellington.
