Correction
In the following story published in the print edition on Oct. 13 we misstated the deadline for online voting. The deadline for online voting is midnight Oct. 20.
Online voting
As of Friday morning 611 electors had registered to enable them to vote online; 279 have voted already. That works out to about approximately 100 per day since registration opened. If that trend continues, Clerk Victoria Leskie estimates that about 1,400 electors will use this method of voting.
Registration closes on Oct. 15. The deadline for voting online is midnight on Oct. 20.
“I am getting very positive feedback from people using the system,” said Leskie. “The biggest drawback isn’t with internet voting, but with inaccuracies and omissions on the voters’ list. Without a voter card, a person cannot vote by Internet. We are processing a large number of additions to the list and attempting to get voters’ cards out in time for registration.”

I will be voting on the 19th, after attending and meeting the candidates at Wellington on the lake on the 18th… one last kick at the can so to speak. 🙂
