Prepared meals crafted with love, passion, and a little extra care

Anew culinary gem is coming to 305 Main Street as Chef Keirra Reid prepares to open County Feasts, offering high-quality, heat-and-eat meals for everyone.

Originally from Haliburton, Reid’s culinary journey began in Kitchener-Waterloo, but it was her first hands-on experience at Wild Orchid, a Thai restaurant in Minden, that cemented her passion for food. “I was always interested in food, but Wild Orchid really pulled me in,” she said. Self-taught since the age of 16, Reid learned through hands-on experience in kitchens, studying cookbooks, and adapting along the way.

Her connection to Prince Edward County began with family visits, and she was drawn to its small-town charm. “I always missed that vibe from growing up in a small town,” she said. “I love that a five-minute grocery run turns into fifteen because you stop to chat with everyone.” About four years ago, an opportunity to help launch a local winery’s food program gave her the push to make Wellington her home. “Wellington is a gem,” Reid said. “I love how close it is to the water. It has a great vibe and feels like the perfect place to start.”

Now, she’s ready to launch County Feasts, a place for convenient, nourishing food. It will operate like a deli counter with self-serve options— heat-and-eat dishes that can be reheated at home, as well as ready-to-eat cold meals. Beyond just great food, Reid is passionate about making healthy eating accessible, especially for people with busy lifestyles. Having experienced her own struggles with mental health, she understands how difficult it can be to prioritize eating well. “In the culinary industry—and many others—we take care of everyone but ourselves,” she said. County Feasts aims to make healthy eating easier for busy families and individuals.

A major focus of County Feasts is inclusivity. “In my experience, people with dietary restrictions often miss out,” Reid noted. “Our motto is ‘Good food for all.’” The menu will accommodate vegan, dairy-free, and allergyfriendly options, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a meal.

The menu will feature a mix of staples and rotating meals, with a focus on creativity and fusion and input from the customers. With experience in everything from Dutch to Indonesian to Korean cuisine, Reid is excited to experiment while also sourcing ingredients from local County growers and producers. She also plans to use the patio space and feature rotating pop-up vendors throughout the week.

The soft opening is set for February as operations get settled, with a grand opening planned for March. To follow along, check out County Feasts on Instagram @countyfeasts or visit their website at countyfeasts.ca
