- Prince Edward OPP is advising drivers to stay off the roads. Zero visibility is causing treacherous road conditions throughout Prince Edward County.
- County Road 33 will not be closed from CR1-CR19, as previously planned.
- The Prince Edward County Council meeting scheduled for tonight has been cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday, January 30th at 7:00 pm at Shire Hall.Blowing snow and snow drifts are creating visibility challenges throughout Prince Edward County.
- Roads are snow covered, and drivers are asked to drive with caution and according to the conditions.
- County Road 33 from Victoria Road to CR 19 is in the process of being closed.
- Garbage that was not collected today will be collected tomorrow.
- The County is continuing with snow removal efforts but expects delays in servicing some roads and areas.
- Plows are fully mobilized and crews are continuing with snow removal efforts as quickly as possible. Arterial Roads are given priority to ensure that emergency service vehicles and residents can travel as safely as possible.
- A street parking ban is in effect from 2am – 6am. Residents are asked not to park on roads or sidewalks to allow for effective snow removal.
Snowbanks may impact visibility of pedestrians and children. Drivers are reminded to drive with caution.
- Do not shovel snow on to the roads and sidewalks. It hinders plowing efforts, and can also result in a $75 fine.
