Fire out at propane distributor in Wellington

County firefighters mop up after extinguishing blaze of a propane delivery tanker truck in Wellington on Monday morning. No injuries have been reported.

 

This morning at approximately 10:45 a.m. a delivery tanker truck caught fire at Greer Propane in Wellington, Prince Edward County.
According to County officials, emergency responders were on scene within  six minutes and extinguished the fire. Water was applied within 11 minutes of the call. Responders from Wellington, Hillier and Hallowell responded.
Crews are continuing to monitor the temperature of the tanks.
The emergency control group was activated.
Residents are asked to avoid the area.
