Geoff Church was actively campaigning up until a few weeks ago when he decided to take a step back and halt his campaign. Realizing the intense commitment a council seat requires and the amount of time spent away from loved ones, Church made the decision that someone else would be better suited for this position after some careful thought and discussions with his family.

“Having put my name forward and become involved in the election, I have come to a much better understanding of the commitment in time and effort that is required to serve on council in an effective manner. I do not think that, at this time, I can make that commitment while also working at my business. I have, therefore, stepped away from actively campaigning for the seat. I would like to thank my friends and neighbours for their kind words of support and encouragement,” says Church.

Church is appreciative of the support he had received for his candidacy, and hopes to still serve his community in some way or another in the future.

Geoff Church’s name will still appear on the ballot.
