Hospice to carry on
Birgit Langwisch, Interim President and Chair of the Board of Directors and Mary Camp, Treasurer announced today that despite recent resignations from the Board, Hospice remains a viable organization, working to live out its Vision: Supporting the journey of living with dying. Ms. Langwisch said, “The remaining board members represent a legally-constituted board of directors whose focus is putting in place interim plans that will ably support the management of the organization on an operational level, and that will begin to rebuild the Board of Directors to quorum and beyond.” Community partner, the Prince Edward Family Health Team, is providing interim management support to Hospice Prince Edward, and while final details of the interim plan are yet to be determined, Hospice Prince Edward is very pleased to announce today that Prince Edward Family Health Team. Executive Director, Stephanie MacLaren has been named Interim Executive Director and Resident Services Manager for Hospice Prince Edward and Hospice Prince Edward Foundation. Hospice is actively continuing operations – working with its committed staff, volunteers and community partners to provide exemplary care and support for residents who need hospice services in their homes and at the Community Residential Hospice Home at 40 Downes Avenue. Hospice Prince Edward is profoundly grateful for the continued support of this remarkable community, and is committed to working with information gathered at the public community meeting on Monday, June 29th to rebuild its Board, strengthen its programming and move forward into the future with transparency and enthusiasm.
