James “Jimmy” Steven Hardy

(1955-2026)

Jimmy passed away peacefully at 2:55am January 28th surrounded by his wife and children.

Jim was a loving husband, father and “Grampa” devoted to his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife Joanne, his children Lyndsay (Rishad), Rachael (Jeremy), Sarah (Todd) and Meg; Sarah (Wes), Omi (Jason) and David (Andrea); and his cherished grandchildren Adelaide, Esme; Oakley, Forrest; Peter, Erica; Lydia, Silas; Ariel, Eden, Jonah; Hunter, Noah, and Hugo; as well as his sister Judy (Wayne),  nephew Michael and nieces Dawn (Peter) and Diana (Kevin) and many, many friends. He nurtured a special relationship with every one of them and his warmth, love, and playful spirit will be remembered by all.

Jimmy lived 70 years of life to be inspired by. He was an accomplished musician and producer, pilot, motorcyclist, woodworker, winemaker and distiller, mechanic, adventurer, fisherman, businessman, animal lover, artist, alchemist, family man, friend and community supporter. He was the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter, keen intellect and constant action wherever he chose to be. Leaving no interest unexplored, Jimmy cultivated curiosity and momentum in the lives of those he touched. He leaves us with a legacy of authenticity, wonder and unbounded love.

Jimmy’s final years were truly his best and most cherished. He knew how great life was and was thrilled to share it with all of us.

Memorial Party will be held on Sunday, February 15 from 2-5PM at Maison Millefleurs in Wellington, ON.
