Leadership disruption
Two managers on leave at McFarland Home
According to reports received by the Times, two senior managers were escorted from HJ McFarland Memorial Home in Picton late last week. In a letter sent to residents of the senior’s residence, County manager Merlin Dewing confirmed that Administrator Beth Piper and Director of Care, Lori Kimmett had been placed on administrative leave until further notice.
County officials would not confirm reports that an internal audit is underway.
Susan Turnbull, commissioner responsible for McFarland Home, would not comment on the nature of the investigation— but did say it had been initiated by the municipality.
Turnbull has stepped in to directly oversee the operation of the home during the “temporary disruption in leadership.”
“I will work to ensure the residents continue to receive the superior care they have come to expect,” said Turnbull
