State of emergency
On Wednesday, Prince Edward County declared a state of emergency as a precautionary measure to assist with those in low-lying areas should the waters of Lake Ontario and the Bay of Quinte rise.
Quinte Conservation informed the County that although the worst is over inland, water receding from the watersheds will enter the bay and the lake. The water could rise an estimated six inches (14.5 centimetres) before receding in June.
