Supermoon
Last week brought the first perigean full moon of the year
April’s full Moon often corresponded with the early springtime blooms of a wildflower native to eastern North America— Phlox subulata—commonly called creeping phlox or moss phlox, which also went by the name moss pink. This full Moon then came to be called the Pink Moon. This year, we will be treated to a second supermoon on May 26. Supermoons are bigger and brighter than the average full Moon.
