Tragedy in Ameliasburgh

A family afternoon skate on Roblin Lake turned horribly wrong on Sunday when the ice beneath them broke open and two people fell into the icy water. Both were rescued from the lake but 46-year-old James Ervine, a resident of the village of Ameliasburgh, died a short while later in hospital.

OPP warn that all ice should be considered unsafe until proven otherwise.
