Turbines over Milford

How will the turbines really appear when they rise over Milford? Liz Driver has been locked in a months-long battle to with industrial wind energy developer wpd Canada over the impact these imposing machines will have on the heritage landscape of South Marysburgh and specifically the designated heritage properties nearby.

According to Driver the Ontario Ministry of Culture and Tourism agrees that three of the turbines will negatively impact protected heritage properties in South Marysburgh—but won’t act to safeguard them because to do so would diminish the economic viability of wpd Canada’s project.

Driver has commissioned a series of video simulations that give, in her view, a clearer impression of how the landscape will be altered. You can see them below.

This nightmarish vision underscores how much we lose when we bow down to blind greed and corrupted political agendas. Hundreds of years of bucolic, pastoral coexistence ravaged by spinning, industrial money vacuums. It’s like the aliens have invaded and we lost. Keep fighting folks. Your little piece of heaven is in danger of becoming a scene out of Blade Runner.
