Baroque and early music ensemble Four Play will perform music by Handel, Telemann, and J.S. Bach this Saturday May 10 at 2:30 at Wellington United Church in a program billed as Musick for Severall Friends. Four Play is Maryl and Ernie Neufeld on viola and violin respectively with Josie Farrar, bass viola de gamba and Michael Goodwin on spinet—a form of harpsichord.

Joining them as special guest Helen Cluett singing Purcell’s Music for a While and madrigals by Donato and Morley.

Maryl Neufeld explains that the program has come about from the ensembles love of interesting and challenging baroque and earlier music. This fascination has led them to use replica instruments to reproduce the original sound and intent of the composer to the greatest extent possible.

Four Play with Helen Cluett are performing one show only on Saturday May 10 beginning at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door at Wellington United Church.
