Wellington Recreation Committee Survey

Many community events only become reality, and therefore successful, with dedicated community involvement and participation, mostly of the volunteer kind. Traditional annual events can only prosper when people work together; giving time, bringing new ideas or contributing financially. In spring 2018, an enthusiastic new rookie group quietly took up the challenge to resurrect the disbanded Wellington Recreation Committee, where a bunch of committed local residents and business people found themselves on a learning curve.

In order to fulfill our mandate, which is to develop, coordinate and support recreation, culture and heritage activity programming for residents of Ward 3, Wellington, we need input from residents.

Because our core events draw a broader audience than Wellington residents, we also want to give others an opportunity to express their views.

We have limited resources and volunteers, which means we need to be smart about how we deploy both. It means setting priorities.

A few things you need to know. Your opinion counts! That’s why we are taking the time to study your answers. The survey will take approximately five minutes to complete. The study is strictly confidential. We are not asking for names, because it is not necessary, so please, be candid with us.

We do ask some personal questions, such as place of residence, age and gender (optional).

We expect opinions will vary depending on one’s life stage, and this will help better understand the broad findings, and ultimately guide decision making.

The survey will take several weeks to complete and a summary of the results will be published in the paper and online.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey, which can be found here.
