Young racers on the Bloomfield speedway

Ben Heaney speeds down Mill Street in his Lego-inspired racer during the annual Bloomfield Soapbox Derby on Saturday morning. Dozens of children took part in the event, with trophies for the top three finishers in each age category, plus trophies for the best soapbox cars. Afterwards, everyone was invited to the park for a pizza lunch.
